The Nursing Licensure Exam (NLE) in the Philippines stands as a pivotal nationwide assessment conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). This examination is not just a formality; it is an indispensable prerequisite for individuals who have successfully completed a nursing degree within the Philippines and aspire to practice the nursing profession in a legal and regulated capacity within the country.
The Philippines holds the distinction of being the primary source of nurses globally, contributing more than 25% to the nursing workforce in the United States alone. This reputation is well-founded, considering the nation's emphasis on education, widespread English proficiency, and the robust work ethic deeply rooted in Filipino culture. It is to be noted that over 30,000 aspiring nurses take the Philippine Nurses Licensure Examination each year. In May 2022, there were 9,729 and in November 2022 there were 24,903 PNLE exam takers. In May, 2023, there were a total of 14,364 exam takers. In November 2023, there were 32,203 exam takers out of which 25,761 successfully passed with a pass percentage of 80%.

He vividly recalled the process of memorising over 8,000 nursing flashcards and answering thousands of questions, shaping the pathway to success.
He reflects on his unwavering commitment during the review inundated his thoughts, acknowledging the unwavering support from family, friends, and mentors as a well-deserved acknowledgment rather than a mere stroke of luck. Recognizing this triumph as a potent affirmation of his latent potential, Tomboc heralded it as the dawn of his odyssey in nursing. He underscored that this achievement transcended personal boundaries, attributing it to a collective victory fueled by the exceptional individuals who stood steadfastly by his side from the very beginning.
